October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
People are wearing purple today (Wednesday, Oct. 17) to join the statewide “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence” campaign, organized by the New York State office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. Purple is the symbolic hue for domestic violence awareness.
Upstate also is hosting the Vera House Silent Witness display. See it in the Health Sciences Library in Weiskotten Hall on the downtown campus through Friday, Oct. 19. See it in the cafeteria of the community campus from Monday, Oct. 22 to Friday Oct. 26.
